  With over 30 years' experience in the commercial property management industry throughout the southeast region, I’ve earned a Bachelors in Sustainability Management along with the designations of RPA (Real Property Administrator) and FMA (Facility Management Administrator) from the Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA), along with a CPM (Certified Property Manager) from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and have been LEED Green Certified. I have managed a variety of property types, including residential, office, retail, medical and industrial properties. Successfully managing over 5 million square feet during my last assignment. 

I've also worked for some of the most notable property management companies though out the country including Grubb & Ellis (now known as Newmark, Grubb, Knight Frank), CBRE, EastGroup and The Parmenter Company.   During my tenure at CBRE I earned Property Manager of the Year and Sustainability Manager of the year - three years running.   In addition, served on the board of the local BOMA organization from 2014 - 2017 and was the chair of the Sustainability Committee.   The success I've had has also been realized by implementing an assortment of strategies including creative cost savings, designing tenant retention programs, implementing sustainability practices, and resourceful problem solving which is included in this teaching program.  During my career I instituted a sustainability best practice program for a nationwide portfolio of 65 properties resulting in LEED Green designated buildings, Energy Star certifications and reduced energy, water and waste use. The tenant retention programs caused less turn-over lowering tenant improvement costs, lease commissions and rent-up expenses while the preventative maintenance programs I produced resulted in fewer maintenance repairs and increased the Net Operating Income.   

The many owners I’ve worked with are dependent upon the property manager to operate the properties to a high level.  I believe integrity are paramount to being successful.   I’ve successfully trained and managed a variety of property managers, assistants and building engineers throughout the years which allowed for them to grow and advance their career. Each area of the operations of a property are important to evaluate.
